Main Dish Recipe Journal

Here you can find recipes to various main dishes i've prepared in the past or have found to be unique in flavor and texture. Please enjoy what I have to offer at the moment. Later on in the future more will be added as I try more things. Remember that my recipes are not absolute and can be exchanged with other ingredients that are to your liking. Try experimenting a little.

Taco Meat ( Great for Mexican Night )

Ingredients:

1 Pound Ground Beef or Finely Cut Pieces of Chicken
1 Cup Diced Onions ( Optional )
1 Clove Garlic ( Minced )
1 1/2 Teaspoons Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Oregano
1/2 Cup Tomato Sauce
1/2 Cup Green Chiles ( Diced )
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Pepper

Preparation:

Heat a large skillet or pan over medium or high heat ( as stoves may vary ). Wait until the skillet or pan is warm then add the meat, let cook until browned. Turn the heat down to low and let meat sit for about 4 - 5 minutes. Then drain any oil or fat from the meat. Now begin adding your extra ingredients, start with the salt, pepper, garlic, oregano and green chiles and onions if you decided to add those in as well. Turn the heat up to about medium let cook about another 1 - 2 minutes then add in the tomato sauce. Stir frequently to break up the meat. Let cook until most of the juices/liquids have evaporated. When all liquid is evaporated or meat is thorougly cooked, your meat is ready to eat.
